Vaccinations

Havrix

  • For hepatitis A- a viral infection of the liver contracted by drinking contaminated water, eating contaminated food or ingesting the virus directly off their hands.
  • 2 step injection- the first is administered 30 days before travelling and the second should be received 6-12 months upon returning
  • Can also be done on an accelerated schedule as required

Typherix

  • Typhoid is a bacterial infection of the digestive tract spread via food and water contaminated with fecal matter from affected human carrier
  • Single injection and should be administered at least one week before travel

Twinrix

  • Combination vaccine for Hep A and B
  • 3 step injection- Standard: first injection on date of choosing, second injection 30 days after first, third injection 6 months after first (0-1 month-6months)
  • Can also be done on an accelerated schedule as required

Zostavax

  • Shingles
  • Single injection

Imovax

  • Polio
  • 10-14 days before travel
  • Single injection

Dukoral

  • For travelers diarrhea which is caused by bacteria, viruses and less commonly parasites that are ingested by eating contaminated food or beverages
  • 2 dose liquid taken 3 weeks before travel

Menactra

  • Meningitis is an infection caused by different bacteria entering the body through the upper respitory tract
  • Injection and should be administered at least 10 days before travelling

Yellow Fever

  • Viral disease that is transmitted to humans by mosquitoes
  • Single injection at least 10 days before entering the country

Gardasil

  • HPV (Human Papillomavirus)
  • Three injections over a six month period
